McCain Sees Excitement of Primary Day First-Hand

(CBS)
From CBS News' Dante Higgins:

NASHUA, N.H. -- John McCain dropped by a polling station in Nashua this morning and was greeted by a mob of cameras and a sea of McCain signs that surrounded the Straight Talk Express as it pulled in.

McCain and wife Cindy made their way through the crowd and zig-zagged through the parking lot while McCain supporters screamed "GO MCCAIN, GO MCCAIN!"

McCain supporters met up with Romney supporters - the Romney supporters chanted "GO ROMNEY!" while McCain supporters shouted back, "GO MCCAIN!"

In the end it was just a bunch of yelling, pushing and shoving. But excitement of primary day was apparent.

Getting back on his bus, McCain shook his head and said, "Whew ... Brother!" as he made his way to the back. "That was something! That's why we don't go into the polling stations," McCain said as he sipped on a cup of coffee. There was one poor couple that was just trying to get in to go vote."

"Did you see those little girls who were crying because they got hurt?" Cindy McCain asked her husband. Staffers brought them on the bus and allowed them to meet McCain.

"I'm sorry girls, I apologize that that happened you," McCain said as he signed a book for them.
