The A-list Hollywood film director stepped behind the camera for a one-minute spot advertising Chanel's new Bleu de Chanel perfume.
The one-minute advertisement is not the first "short film" for the 67-year-old, the man behind such films as "Mean Streets," "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas." He famously shot Michael Jackson's "Bad" video, which premiered on CBS in 1987; the full-length clip runs 16 minutes, but was edited down substantially for television.
The ad is steeped in blue and atmospheric visuals and also stars the French actor Gaspard Ulliel as the leading male actor.
Scorese follows in the footsteps of noted motion picture directors such as Spike Lee, Baz Luhrmann and Frank Miller -- who have each shilled commercial goods for companies.
