Martha Stewart Visits 'Cosby'

Iron a shirt with Bill Cosby and you might end up with a guest shot on his CBS-TV sitcom.

At least, that's what happened to Martha Stewart.

Back in October, Cosby visited CBS This Morning to promote his book, Kids Say The Darnedest Things. Stewart, who is a This Morning contributor, happened to be on hand that day to demonstrate how to iron a shirt. Between kibbutzing with Meteorologist Craig Allen and clowning with Co-Anchor Mark McEwen, Cosby jumped in on Stewart's segment and showed her how he ironed shirts when he was in the U.S. Navy.

The comedian had such a good time that he asked Stewart to guest-star as herself on Cosby. The result may be seen on Cosby Monday at 8 p.m. EST.

"He's great to work with," says Stewart, who is serving as guest co-anchor on This Morning during Thanksgiving week. "So relaxed! The rehearsals were very relaxed, and it was great."

Because she plays herself in the episode, Stewart needed no costumes or special makeup. She just wore her own clothes.

"I was hoping they'd give me a real part," Stewart tells McEwen. "I played myself. It's not hard. [But] I had to remember lines, and I couldn't muff it up!"
