Marie Osmond Unveils New Talk Show

Singer-actress Marie Osmond announced at a surprise press conference in Las Vegas Tuesday that she will host "Marie," a lifestyle/talk show, to be offered for syndication in the fall of 2009.

"I've always wanted to do a show for women," said Osmond, "that would offer them a safe place to have some fun and get vital information. 'Marie' will truly reflect my personality - funny, and sometimes serious and never predictable."

Osmond is no stranger to television, having starred with her brother Donny on the "Donny & Marie Show" during the 1970s. She also has appeared in made-for-TV movies and hosted a talk show with Donny Osmond in the late 1990s. More recently, she was a judge on "Celebrity Duets" and a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC.

In addition to her on-camera ventures, Osmond has a popular line of collectible dolls and craft kits sold on QVC.

Despite her successful run on "Dancing With The Stars," 2007 was a difficult one for Osmond. In March, she announced that she and her second husband, Brian Blosil, were divorcing. Then in November her father George passed away and a week later she confirmed that her 16-year-old son had entered rehab. She has eight children.
