"Cops suck" tattoo makes Maine police officer laugh

BANGOR, Maine -- A police officer in Maine got a laugh out of a man's tattoo that says, "Cops Suck."

The Bangor Police Department on Monday posted a Facebook photo of the man holding out his fists with letters tattooed on his knuckles next to a smiling officer. The photo has more than 5,400 likes as of Tuesday afternoon.

In the Facebook post, police said that the man, identified only as "Russell," now regretted getting the tattoo.

The police department has received attention for using humor in its social media presence.

Police note the man apparently had a problem with authority earlier in his life but cooperated when they asked him to move on over the weekend.

"Russell was not arrested or charged with violations," the Facebook post read. "We like it that way."
