Man upset about friend killed by train shoots at another train, say Tenn. cops
(CBS/AP) TAZEWELL, Tenn. - A man who was upset because his deaf friend was struck and killed by a train sought revenge by firing gunshots into another train, say authorities in northeast Tennessee.
Mark Anthony Bruce, 47, was due in court to answer to an aggravated assault charge, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel.
On June 2, the crew of a Norfolk Southern train told police that Bruce claimed a train killed his friend, and then he pumped about five shots into their train during the crew's routine safety check. No one was hurt.
Investigators say they found an AK-47 rifle in Bruce's home.
Timothy Miracle of Harrogate, who was deaf and mute, was struck on the tracks and killed May 29 in Claiborne County.
