Making the Case for Netbooks Over Notebooks
Still can't decide if your next notebook should be a netbook? PC Magazine makes the case that it should, using your wallet as a primary argument:
Why is your company still paying $2,000 for a business laptop when it can have five or six netbooks for about the same price?
Think it's as simple as that? I don't -- but I will admit I'm starting to come around to PC Mag's way of thinking...
For example, the author dispels the myth that netbooks lack important features:
Most netbooks average three USB ports, an Ethernet port, and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity, which is more than enough to support the average business professional. An omitted optical drive is probably the only thing a business will miss.
I concur, and who really needs an optical drive these days anyway? I suspect most businesses travelers use them to watch DVDs, which can just as easily be downloaded via iTunes or ripped on another PC.
