Madonna pokes fun at hydrangeas incident (Video)

(CBS) Madonna is poking fun at last week's hydrangeas incident in a new video.

For those who missed it, the singer was criticized for mocking a bouquet of the flowers given to her by a fan during an appearance at the Venice Film Festival.

"I absolutely loathe hydrangeas," she was heard saying. "He obviously doesn't know that."

Madonna made a short film making light of the situation (watch it above). In it, she is seen weeping over a pile of hydrangeas, as she apologizes to the bloom: "You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you. Words cannot express how sorry I am. To think I may have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me."

"If I could take back my words I would, but I can't, so what am I left with?" she asks, changing her tone. "I'm left with the fact that I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them! It's a free country! So f--- you, I like roses!"
