Madonna Back In NYC To Promote Film
Madonna is making a surprise trip to the U.S. to host a special screening of her upcoming family film, "Arthur and the Invisibles," for students of two charter schools in New York, it was announced Wednesday by the Weinstein Company.
According to her Web site, Madonna has planned visits with "Today's" Meredith Vieira and the ABC show "Live with Regis and Kelly" on Jan. 11, where she'll discuss the film, in which she plays Princess Selenia.
The singer, who has faced criticism recently for her attempt at adopting a toddler from Malawi, co-stars in the family adventure alongside Robert De Niro, Jimmy Fallon, Mia Farrow, and Freddie Highmore, among others. It hits theaters nationwide on Jan. 12.
"Arthur and the Invisibles" is about a boy (Highmore) who sets out to save his family home from real estate developers. The film is based on the best-selling children's book, "Arthur and the Minimoys."Photos: Madonna In Malawi
The schools Madonna will visit are supported by the Robin Hood, Kipp and Achievement First charities.
