Lying Lotto Lady Turns To Boxing

Elecia Battle is looking for a good fight. The woman who falsely claimed to have lost a winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket is starting a new career as a boxer.

The 41-year old mother of four still says she thought she bought the $162 million winning ticket. Almost a year ago, she said she dropped it outside an Ohio convenience store.

Battle says since then she's had a hard time landing a job and because she's always been athletic, she decided to give boxing a go.

She trains with Romeo Conner. He's taught boxers for 20 years and she's shown dedication. She's already got her Ohio boxing license.

Her ring name? "Mega Battle."

Earlier this year, Battle was found guilty of filing a false police report. She was fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.

Shortly after the Dec. 30, 2003, lottery drawing Battle filed a police report saying she had bought the winning ticket but lost it. A few days later, another woman produced the winning ticket and claimed the jackpot.

Battle sued to block payment but later dropped her lawsuit and tearfully apologized.
