Loud music jury ends Friday's deliberations without verdict

JACKSONVILLE, Fla - The jury deliberating the case of Michael Dunn, a Fla. man who shot and killed  teenager Jordan Davis after an argument over loud music, has stopped for the night without reaching a verdict.

The 12 jurors will continue Saturday morning.

Earlier Friday, they asked the judge if they could reach a verdict on some of the charges against Dunn, but deadlock on one, reported CBS affiliate WTEV.

The judge reportedly told the jury that the law allows them to reach a verdict on some charges but not others. If the jury deadlocks on a charge, a mistrial will be declared for that charge.

Dunn, 47, shot and killed the 17-year-old Davis in the parking lot of a Jacksonville gas station on the evening of Nov. 23, 2012. He has been charged with one count of first degree murder, three counts of attempted first degree murder concerning three of Davis' friends who were also in the car, and one count of firing into an occupied vehicle.

The jury, which is sequestered, has been deliberating the case since late Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday, they watched surveillance video from the gas station on the night of the shooting, and asked to see a "dummy" used by the prosecution to illustrate the path of the bullets into Davis' body. The judge ruled they could not see the dummy because it was not entered as evidence, only for demonstration.

In addition to their question for the judge late Friday afternoon, the jury also reportedly has ordered dinner in.
