Lindsay Lohan says hit-and-run claims are "a complete lie"
(CBS/AP) Lindsay Lohan is speaking out against claims made by a night club manager, who says the actress "grazed" his knee with her Porsche early Wednesday morning and bolted from the scene immediately.
Pictures: Lindsay Lohan"Scrape? This is all a complete lie," she tweeted. "I've been at community service. Last night, I attempted to wish a friend happy birthday, which I didn't even get to do because I was freaked out by all of the paparazzi. These false accusations are absurd."
According to police, Lohan's black Porsche was surrounded by paparazzi outside a Los Angeles club at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The man told officers her sports car hit his knee outside the club.
Lohan drove off and a police report wasn't taken because the man, an employee of the Hookah Lounge near the club, wasn't hurt, Los Angeles police Sgt. Mark Ro said.
The 25-year-old actress was trying to make a U-turn outside the Wilcox Avenue club.
"Space was tight," the sergeant said, adding that Lohan may have nudged the lounge employee's parked car, believed to be a Corvette, but it wasn't damaged.
The sergeant said he didn't know who called police, but Lohan was gone when officers arrived.
Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, released a statement, explaining, "Lindsay stopped by the club to drop in on a friend's birthday party. When she arrived, there were so many photographers there that she decided to leave and never even got out of the car. At no point was there ever any indication that her car hit anyone or anything. We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the next few days."
TMZ reports that the 26-year-old man may want to press charges against Lohan.
Lohan has a history of bad luck with cars.
A woman claimed in a January lawsuit that she was struck by Lohan's Maserati while walking across a West Hollywood intersection in September 2010.
Photographer Grigor Balyan also sued Lohan in January, claiming he was struck by a vehicle in which Lohan was riding in January 2010.
