Lindsay Lohan is free! Actress completes 35-day house arrest for violating probation
(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Watch out world, Lindsay Lohan has been released from house arrest.
The actress's electronic monitoring equipment was removed Wednesday morning, according to a Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman.
Lohan completed her 35 days of home confinement just in time to celebrate her 25th birthday on Saturday, July 2. Leaving house arrest means no more random drug and alcohol tests for the "Mean Girls" star who stopped by the trendy Lexington Social House, a restaurant and club, on her first night of freedom, reports TMZ.
The actress was sentenced to house arrest after pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft in May. She was eligible for the confinement and released early because she's a non-violent offender, and due to jail overcrowding.
The actress' s home confinement in the beachside community of Venice was not without drama. A judge chided her last week for hosting parties at her house but determined Lohan hadn't violated any conditions of her probation.
Lohan is still under court supervision and still on probation, according to sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Lohan is still owes 480 hours of community service, and is expected to resume work at a downtown L.A. women's shelter, and will soon begin additional volunteer work at the county morgue. Plus, she needs to continue with psychological counseling and complete an anti-shoplifting class.
Lohan pleaded no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace from a store in Beverly Hills.
She'll still be on probation for the next three years,, thanks to two DUI cases in 2007.
