Lindsay Lohan cleared of battery charges against a Betty Ford Center employee
(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Prosecutors say they will not file criminal charges against actress Lindsay Lohan for battery of a Betty Ford rehab center staff member last December.
The Riverside County District Attorney's Office says prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to pursue a misdemeanor battery case against the "Mean Girls" star.
A worker at a Betty Ford Center facility east of Los Angeles accused Lohan of battery in December. The employee was later fired after talking about the incident on camera with celebrity website TMZ.
Prosecutors announced their decision Tuesday not to pursue the case.
Lohan is still due in court on April 22 for her hearing in the felony grand theft case filed after a Beverly Hills jewelry store accused her of taking a $2,500 necklace. Lohan has pleaded not guilty and turned down a plea deal.
