Lemonade Stand Theft Sours Little Girls' Day, Leaves Father Thirsting for Justice

(CBS)

PONTIAC, Mich. (CBS/AP) A lemonade stand robbery in a northern Detroit suburb was the pits for four little girls and left a father thirsting for justice.

Keith Aldrich said he will ask prosecutors to consider child endangerment charges against three teenage boys who robbed a stand hosted near his Pontiac home by his 9-year-old twin girls, 9-year-old stepdaughter and 6-year-old granddaughter.

Aldrich tells The Oakland Press the children were "having the time of their life" Saturday until the teens walked up and stole a cash box containing $40.

Two teens were turned in to the police. A third who had the cash was still on the run.

Aldrich said the children refused to go outside after the incident, according to the paper.

But the family intends to make a stand; they're planning another lemonade sale July 31 at the same location.
