Lego Queen Elizabeth II gets diamond crown for jubilee
(CBS News) A Lego model of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, complete with a real diamond-encrusted crown, has gone on display in time for her Diamond Jubilee.
The mini-monarch was unveiled to the public on Thursday at the Legoland theme part in Windsor, England, not far from the queen's Windsor Palace residence.

The figure, displayed in a Lego model of Buckingham Palace (see a photo below), wears a white dress with a blue sash, and has a crown with real diamonds sitting atop its head.
According to the International Business Times, the tiny crown, designed by jeweler Dinny Hall, has some full-sized security. The park reportedly has a security guard keeping watch over the item, which is 1.5 centimeters tall and contains some 48 diamonds, during opening hours, and it will be locked away at night.
The Lego monarch has some royal company, the IBT notes. She is joined by replicas of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; Prince Charles; Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Prince William; Kate, Duchess of Cambridge; and Prince Harry.
Central celebrations for the queen's Diamond Jubilee will take place from June 2-5 in London . Those festivities will include a festival of boats on the River Thames, the lighting of more than 4,000 beacons across the U.K. and a concert at Buckingham Palace.
