"He constantly never stops working hard," Michele, 25, said of the "Two and a Half Men" star, according to New York's Daily News. "That surprised me the most about him, and it inspired me so much. He's also just an incredibly smart guy and he's so sweet and I'm so thankful to have been given him as a co-star."

This was Kutcher's first red-carpet appearance since news broke of his split from actress Demi Moore. According to reports, the actor, 33, arrived solo and did not talk to the press. Michele and boyfriend Theo Stockman parted ways in September after dating for more than a year.

Directed by Garry Marshall, "New Year's Eve" features a large ensemble cast, and many of those stars were also on hand for the premiere. Zach Efron posed for pictures with Michelle Pfeiffer, Katherine Heigl kissed husband Josh Kelley and Josh Duhamel arrived with his wife, Fergie, who donned a sparkly silver dress and retro curls.

Others who attended the event included rapper/actor Ludacris and actresses Abigail Breslin, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara. Michele's "Glee" co-stars Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Kevin McHale were also there.

"New Year's Eve" hits theaters on Friday.
