Last-Minute Looks for New Year's Eve

Running low on time to look great before your New Year's Eve party?

Beauty expert Jenn Falik shared these tips on "The Early Show" to help you turn up the glitz and glamour at the last minute -- and look polished for your night out.

Falik says it's all about shimmers, sparkles and sequins.

Falik said all you need to do is pick one of those looks -- maybe two if you are feeling extra bold -- and it'll spice up your style in seconds.

Here are some of Falik's picks to amplify "the glamour factor" from head to toe:

SHIMMER:

Iridescent Complexion/Luminous Legs:
Jouer Highlighter - $20 at Jouer Cosmetics

Designed to complement all skin tones -- you just add on to the makeup you already own to make it a touch more glowy -- no need to get new stuff -- just find a great booster. These lightweight crèam highlighters instantly illuminate cheekbones, eyes and décolleté, providing a stunning luminescence with a sheer, sheen finish. You can also mix this with your regular body lotion to make it more luminous and give legs a shimmery faux-hosiery effect. Also dot along muscles in arms and legs and massage into the skin to highlight and give the effect of temporary toning/definition.

Shimmering Shadow:
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Pop Collection
- $11 at drugstores

Spice up winter makeup with this collection of shadow palettes inspired by the "Pop Art" trend. Enhance eye colors with the high-performance glamour of perfectly coordinated shades to color, contour and line eyes. From brilliant blue to lime green, each palette contains three vivid and bright trios that can be combined in over 100 different ways. Formulas can be used wet or dry to accentuate, define and make eyes pop.

Pop Your Pout:
MAC Dazzleglass Lip Color
- $18 at Nordstrom

Beauty insiders are obsessed with the right color payoff and saturated sparkle of these long-lasting glosses. Large particle pearls reflect and refract light to mimic the brilliance of quartz and opal crystal. Provides exceptional shine with a crystalline iridescence. Wear alone, or layer over lipstick dramatic effect.

SPARKLE:

Bejeweled Hairbands:
Goody Midnight Glamour Collection - $3 and up at Target

Tip No. 1 for party-ready hair - Don't wash it today! You will have much better luck styling hair if it has a day or two worth of natural oils in it to help you shape it into the look you want. If you have five minutes to spare -- pull hair off face in a ponytail or bun, low around the nape of the neck, and either fasten with one of these bejeweled elastics or slide a satin and sparkled headband about a half inch from the hairline.

Bright Baubles:
J. Crew Bracelets
- $98 at J. Crew.com

I am a huge fan of the jewelry J. Crew has come out with for holiday -- not only is it sparkly and easy to mix in with jewelry you already own (it is all about piling it on) but the quality is top notch -- no matter how much you dance and toast, these are not coming off!

SEQUINS:

Spiegel Bejeweled Bibb Necklace - $39 at Spiegel.com (in black and amber)

This lays flat on top of a plain black tee-shirt or a basic black dress, and makes it look like a night-out piece straight off the runway. Also, I love that they are lightweight. The ribbon tie around the neck, not only looks chic, but is super comfy. Nothing can weigh down a look and ruin a night like a piece of jewelry strangling you.

Aqua clutch - $98 at Bloomingdales (image not available and not available online)

This sleek sparkler is a classic shape -- more like a piece of jewelry than a clutch, with just enough room for the essentials.
