Las Vegas woman accused of stabbing pregnant sister-in-law to death, report says

(CBS) LAS VEGAS - Elinor Indico, a 30-year-old Las Vegas woman, is accused of stabbing her pregnant sister-in-law to death, reports CBS affiliate KLAS. The woman's unborn child was also killed in the attack.

Police say they were called to an apartment complex in Las Vegas around 6 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a woman had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found Indico suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds and a second adult woman, identified by the station as Ashley Indico, dead from apparent stab wounds. Police determined the victim was nine months pregnant and the unborn child had also died in the attack, reports the station.

There were two young children inside the home at the time of the attack, but they were reportedly unharmed.

Indico was transported to a local hospital and was reportedly booked in absentia on charges of open murder and involuntary manslaughter, reports the station.

During the investigation, police reportedly determined Indico to be the victim's sister-in-law. Police say the two had been living together for the past two months. Indico allegedly told police that she got into an argument with the victim over being told she had to move out.

The victim's husband, who is the suspect's brother, told police that his sister had a history of violence and drug use, reports the station.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
