Lady Gaga eats Letterman's notes on "Late Show"

(CBS) Lady Gaga made a memorable appearance on Monday night's "Late Show with David Letterman," during which she declared herself Batman, ate paper and suggested Letterman should come to work in his underwear.

The singer, wearing little more than her underpants and a black leather jacket, stopped by the show to discuss her album "Born This Way," which was released that day.

When Letterman asked her why she was wearing a black mask with the ensemble, she responded with the most logical answer possible: "I'm Batman," she declared.

The host quipped that he's never considered wearing nothing but his underwear, and Gaga urged him to consider it. "Why not? I'm sure you'd look nice," she told him. "You'd be surprised."

Letterman responded that the authorities would be very surprised, too.

But the best part of the interview came while she was addressing some rumors about herself. Fed up with Letterman's questions, she snatched a page of his notes and ripped it in half. She then crumpled the paper and ate it, despite the host's protests.
