Know When to Walk to the Bus Stop: Get Transit Directions from Bing
Bing continues to roll out new features at a brisk pace, and the latest update lets you get mass transit information from Bing Maps. Want to know what busses to take, or when you need to leave to reach the destination by a certain time? Bing is here to help.
Of course, Google has been doing something quite similar for a few years, but now you have a choice. And if you've developed a preference for Bing, its new mass transit mode is one more thing you don't need to click over to Google to accomplish.
A few caveats, though. First, the site currently only supports about a dozen cities, such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, and Vancouver. More cities, of course, will follow.
Also: the transit option is only available in Bing Maps' classic mode. If you are using the Silverlight version (probably to take advantage of the various Map Apps I've recently told you about), you'll need to switch back before the transit option appears.
