Knicks Hire Frank Layden
Frank Layden, the father of New York general manager Scott Layden, was hired Thursday as a consultant for the Knicks.
Frank Layden, who won the NBA coach of the year and executive of the year awards before retiring from the Utah Jazz last year, will be involved in pre-draft scouting and will be an adviser to his son.
"I could not be happier about this announcement," Scott Layden said. "Adding Frank to a staff that already includes people such as Dick McGuire is invaluable to the Knicks organization."
Frank Layden was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998.
