Kindle App Coming to BlackBerrys, Macs

For the better part of 2009, iPhone owners have enjoyed app-tastic access to Kindle e-books. And just last month, Amazon introduced Kindle software for Windows PCs.

Now, it looks as if others are soon to get in on the Kindle goodness: Amazon's Kindle product page shows Kindle for Mac and Kindle for BlackBerry apps "coming soon." See for yourself:

Alas, we don't have any details yet as to when "soon" is, but I'll wager we'll see the official announcements -- if not actual software releases -- before the end of '09.

What do think? Exciting news? Much as I'm a fan of e-books (which I routinely read on my iPhone), I think most BlackBerry screens are too small -- even for me.

On the other hand, for short bursts of business-related reading (you know, of the "7 Habits" variety) during unexpected moments of boredom or downtime, the app may prove mighty nice to have.
