Kim Kardashian: It's nice to have fashion in common with Kanye West

(CBS News) Kim Kardashian is on the cover of the fall fashion issue of New York Magazine and inside she dishes about how her boyfriend, rapper Kanye West, influences her fashion endeavors.

The reality TV star, who started out as a wardrobe stylist and launched a chain of clothing boutiques with her sisters, told the magazine "I love designing. All morning I was talking to my sisters about different designs."

West is also involved in the fashion world. The musician showed his first creations at Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2011. Kardashian says the two have bonded over fashion.

"If I have a design meeting, or he has one, we come back and talk about how our meetings went," explains Kardashian to the magazine. "It's cool, 'cause you can definitely get more in-depth with someone who actually knows what you're talking about...So that's been a fun similarity we have."

Kardashian and West were seen out together in July at Paris Fashion Week 2012, though the two had not been confirmed as a couple, sitting in the coveted front row and taking in fashion together.

"I think it's essential to have similarities. When this whole life is done, and it's just the two of us sitting somewhere when we're 80, you want to have things to talk about that you have in common. I think that's something maybe I didn't value as highly as a quality I cared about in someone."
