Montreal-based Tribal Nova, a virtual-world and educational-gaming company for kids, has raised $2.5 million (C$3 million) from iNovia Capital and ID Capital. The company didn't disclose if it had raised previous rounds. Tribal Nova creates its own gaming and virtual-world products for 3- to 12-year-olds, and also partners with media companies to make games. The company partnered with PBS, for example, to create PBS KIDS PLAY!, and launched its own site Kidstudio   , a virtual world for kids with content from their favorite TV shows.
