Ken Venturi
Ken Venturi has provided commentary for CBS Sports' coverage of golf since 1968, when, along with Jack Whitaker, he co-hosted the CBS Golf Championship and CBS Golf Classic.
Venturi, a 1953 graduate of San Jose State College, turned pro in 1956 and joined the PGA Tour in June 1957. He established himself as one of golf's elite with his 1964 U.S. Open championship at the Congressional Country Club in Washington, DC.
That year, he was named the PGA Player of the Year and was chosen as Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year.
He earned a total of 14 PGA Tour victories in his career. He was a U.S. Ryder Cup team member (1965) and a member of the PGA Tournament Committee (1960-62).
Venturi was born May 15, 1931 in San Francisco. He and his wife, Beau, have two children.
