Kelly Clarkson returns to the "American Idol" stage
(CBS) - Kelly Clarkson was briefly back in her old stomping grounds last night.
The first-ever "American Idol" winner hit the stage on Thursday's result show, which sent 26-year-old Paul McDonald home, and performed a duet of "Don't You Wanna Stay" with country singer Jason Aldean.

The pair performed the song back in November during the 44th Annual Country Music Awards, and this past March, it hit No. 1 on Billboard's Country Songs chart.
Clarkson, 28, who took home the "Idol" crown nearly nine years ago, recently wrapped up her fifth studio album, which is due for a September release.
