Keith Urban returning to "American Idol," will Jennifer Lopez?

"American Idol" will have at least one familiar face in the judges' seats when it returns next season: Keith Urban has signed on for another year.

"Keith is going to return to the show," Kevin Reilly, Fox entertainment chief, said Thursday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The fans really liked him. Keith is a really funny guy."

Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and longtime judge Randy Jackson have already announced their exits, but former judge Jennifer Lopez could be on the "Idol" floor once again as she's reportedly in talks to return for season 13. "There have been discussions, but there is no deal," Reilly said. He also pointed out that "most of the thing is true" in relation to the Lopez reports.

Lopez served as a judge on the series from 2011-2012, and according to THR, recent discussions have been at a bit of a standstill over money.

Other possible names have been tossed around, too, including Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am and songwriter/producer Dr. Luke.

"American Idol" ratings were sluggish last season, eventually dropping to an all-time low. Will a new set of judges help boost numbers? Time will tell. The new season of "Idol" premieres in January.

Tell us: Who would you like to see as a judge on "American Idol"?
