(CBS) Kate Middleton reportedly celebrated the impending end of her singlehood with a low-key bachelorette party, known across the pond as a "hen night," sometime last week.

Like her husband-to-be Prince William, who pulled off atop-secretbachelor bash over the weekend, Middleton's ladies-only event was far from the paparazzi lens.

The private party, organized by maid of honor and sister Pipa, was taken place at a close friend's home several days before William's stag party, according to new reports in the British media.

"She has already had her hen night, but it was certainly very low-key," a source close to Middleton told UK's Daily Telgraph. "There isn't such a tradition attached to hen nights as there is to stag parties. It was done privately. Not all of Kate's friends were there, and she will be catching up with other friends over the coming weeks."

Her friends that were likely in attendance include, Olivia Bleasdale, who shared an apartment with Middleton and William at St. Andrews University, former classmate Alicia Fox-Pitt, and Rose Astor, who is married to one of William's close friends, Hugh van Cutsem.
