NEW YORK (CBS) Talk show host Chelsea Handler thinks it's about time Kanye West and Taylor Swift make amends and "hug it out," so to speak.

The host of the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards 2010 wants to make peace between the two pop stars, she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday.
"We'll try to think of something clever to do with them, because that would be really fun," Handler said.
West ignited controversy last year after he stormed the stage and grabbed the microphone from Swift during her acceptance speech for the "Best Female Video" award. The rapper yanked the microphone and begin ranting that fellow nominee, Beyonce, had "one of the greatest videos of all-time" for "Single Ladies."
West has since apologized, though the two haven't been seen in the same vicinity since that infamous spectacle."I'd like to get them together," Handler told Seacrest. "We've never really seen them together since then. They were supposed to be together on 'SNL,' but then that didn't end up happening."
West is slated to perform at this year's VMAs on Sept. 12; anything could happen, even a possible reconciliation.
