K-Strass: Yo-Yo Master, Eco Prankster or YouTube Legend?
LOS ANGELES (CBS) Five news stations in Wisconsin claim they were pranked recently after they let Kenny Strasser AKA K-Strass as a guest on their broadcast.
The self-proclaimed Yo-Yo champion is a spokesperson for Zim Zam, which, on their site, claims to be 'the first and only "green" non-profit yo-yo maker.
As you can see from his appearance after the break, news anchors were dumbfounded when his so-called talents didn't really live up to par:
That video has since gone viral and now has many wondering- is this just a big prank or a super-smart marketing campaign.
I spoke to K-Strass himself during one of his stopovers on the road. As he chowed down on some wings and Mountain Dew, he shared his thoughts on his recent questionable appearances: "It's not a prank, I'm just trying to be myself. I am just a 35 year-old kid at heart. To be honest, it's been kind of hurtful with what people have been saying about me, but if it's getting the message out, then I'm doing my job."
Ok, I can let that one slide, but as he goes on a diatribe about not wanting to talk about his personal life including a recent DWI, his African American grandfather's yo-yo expertise and comparing the toy to brownies and chocolate chip cookies, you have to wonder how real this all this...
So what does the future hold for K-Strass? He told me he's currently on the road visiting schools and showing off his skills, but wants to seg-way into "environmental softball presentations, because I'm a lot better at that than yo-yoing and a lot of people don't even know it."
