Julie Chen to Co-Host Mom Daytime Talk Show

"Early Show" co-anchor Julie Chen will co-host a new daytime talk show on CBS this fall. Chen will join a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who will examine topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of mothers.

The daily, one-hour series will be co-hosted by Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

According to a CBS spokesman Chen will continue to have an important on-air role with "The Early Show" once her new show begins, but she no longer will be one of the daily co-anchors of the broadcast.

On the new show, the co-hosts -- moms with children ranging in age from infant to adult -- will swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes through the lens of motherhood. Show segments will include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, live remotes from the field and personal home footage shot by the co-hosts themselves.

The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.

Chen has been an anchor of "The Early Show" since October 2002. Chen spends her summers doing double-duty between co-anchoring "The Early Show" and hosting "Big Brother," a reality series that began its 12th season on CBS in July 2010.

Chen lives in New York and Los Angeles with her husband, Leslie Moonves, with whom she has a son and three stepchildren.
