Father acquitted in fatal shooting of daughter's boyfriend

PHILADELPHIA --A northeast Philadelphia man has been acquitted in the fatal shooting of his daughter's boyfriend, who he said he thought was an intruder.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports a judge found 42-year-old Charles Jordan not guilty of voluntary manslaughter on Monday in the killing of Marc Carrion.

Jordan testified that he heard several bangs in his apartment and grabbed his gun on the night of Sept. 15, 2014.

He says he found Carrion in his daughter's room, didn't know who he was and thought he broke into the apartment.

Jordan is heard on the recording of his 911 call ordering Carrion not to move or he would shoot him.

Defense attorney Todd Henry argued that Jordan acted out of self-defense.

He says the incident was a tragedy but not a crime.
