(CBS/What's Trending) - Last weekend, the deadliest tornado since 1950 swept through Joplin, Missouri, killing over 100 people. Tagging their posts with #Joplin, rescue and relief workers posted pictures, videos and information for those looking to find missing friends and relatives in the ravaged town. The before and after shots are stunning, and satellite images of the devastation illuminated the vastness of the destruction. Emergency management experts weighed in on tornado preparedness and rebuilding efforts, as twisters hit several other states across the country. President Obama is scheduled to visit Joplin on Sunday.

Speaking of the President, Barack and Michelle Obama went on a weeklong tour of Europe, making stops in Ireland, England, France and Poland, and attending the G8 summit. Best of all, the Obamas got to meet Kate and Wills! OMG! The presidential couple had a great time drinking Guinness in Ireland, as CBS White House reporter Mark Knoller tweeted. Obama addressed the British Parliament, focusing heavily on the Israel-Palestine situation, and headed to France for high-level talks with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and France's Nicholas Sarkozy. Bonjour! Turns out Barack can speak French. Clearly a socialist.

The reigning family of reality TV added another member this week, as the original Kardashian sis got engaged to New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries. Who creepily has the same first name as the Kardashian matriarch. Her siblings took a break from hawking QuickTrim and Old Navy to celebrate the eldest sister's betrothal, and let us know that within the family they call her Kimmie. TMZ claimed the ring is worth $2 million, so it looks like America will soon be gearing up for a royal wedding of our own. Now Kourtney just needs to get Scott to put a ring on it. Or find herself her own professional athlete.

In the world of international war criminals, Serbian fugitive Ratko Mladic was arrested Thursday for orchestrating a 1995 genocide of over 8,000 civilians in Srebrenica. Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, tweeted that he welcomed the arrest of the former general. Others including the European People's Party, opined that the capture of Mladic, after a 16-year manhunt, will ease Serbia's entry into the EU. Mladic will now face indictment by the United Nations war crimes tribunal at The Hague.

Lastly, this week the world said goodbye to the queen of daytime and person who makes women irrationally excited to look under their chairs, Oprah Winfrey. Wednesday marked the final episode of the Oprah show after 25 years on the air, earning its highest ratings in 17 years. With tags like #oprah, #oprahfinale and #oprahfinalshow, viewers gushed their love for Miss O and raved about the swath of celebrities bidding her farewell. Other news outlets discussed the mark the media titaness has left on the U.S., and what to watch now that the afternoon staple is gone. Oprah herself tweeted that she's heading off on vacation now, getting her hair done and hanging with Stedman. Living the dream.
