John Mayer Says He's Not Back Dating Jennifer Aniston
NEW YORK (CBS) "Are John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston back on?"
Those words and an Internet suggestion were all it took for the musician to take to his blog to blast an online media source who said his concert comments on "second chances" were related to rekindling things with former love interest Jennifer Aniston.
"This is equal parts fabricated, cobbled together and misleading," Mayer writes in his blog. "Let's break it down: I don't think I ever said 'I believe in second chances!" but I can't be 100 percent sure, as it's possible I could have accidentally said something succinctly and to the point."
Another quote the 32-year-old says was taken out of context from his Los Angeles show on Aug. 22 was actually a reference to the song "Half of My Heart," not a veiled comment about a rekindling of his romance with Aniston, 41.
The London Express reports that Mayer admitted he has "never really gotten over" the break-up, insisting their love relationship "had to end... for life reasons."
The on-again, off-again pair broke up early last year.
