John Mayer debuts new short haircut

(CBS News) John Mayer showed off his new short hair at a party for Mindy Kaling's new TV show, "The Mindy Project," in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The musician, who had been sporting long nearly shoulder length hair for two years, finally decided to chop it all off and go for a cleaner look.

The 34-year-old Mayer took the plunge on Friday, getting it cut at the Sally Hershberger salon in Los Angeles, according to People.

Mayer, who reportedly split from Katy Perry recently, was seen out on Saturday night at the party mingling with guests, according to the magazine.
