Jill Biden Plays to Type on "Army Wives"
NEW YORK (CBS) Jill Biden made her acting debut on Sunday, but it wasn't much of a stretch.
In an episode of "Army Wives," she played herself, talking to military families at the show's Fort Marshall to hear about the details of their lives - their joys and their sorrows.
"I'm proud to be here today as a second lady, but I'm even more proud to be here as a military mom," Biden tells a group that gathers for the post's annual fun run to benefit military kids.
Biden's lines sound a lot like those the second lady speaks in real life: She's traveled extensively , sometimes accompanied by her husband, Vice President Joe Biden, to support the cause of military families.
Their son Beau returned last year from a yearlong deployment to Iraq with an Army National Guard unit.
In an interview with "Good Morning America," Mrs. Biden confessed to being "a little nervous" about acting on the Lifetime network show.
