The singer-actress reportedly landed a permanent gig on the judges' panel for Season 10, but, according to People magazine, Fox has now taken back their offer due to her demands.

"Her demands got out of hand," a source close to the situation told the magazine. "Fox had just had enough."

Lopez was widely reported to be the frontrunner, along with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, to fill the open seats left by Ellen DeGeneres, who decided to leave her judging position after just one season, and Simon Cowell.

Subsequent reports also claimed that Kara Dioguardi wasgiven the bootafter two seasons as a resident judge. No announcement has been made about whether judge Randy Jackson will stay.

The only thing for certain right now is the return of Nigel Lythgoe. Last Thursday, "Idol"  officially announced that the "So You Think You Can Dance" judge will once again serve as an executive producer on the show for its 10th season.
