Jennifer Lopez performs Selena tribute at Billboard Latin Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez launched to stardom after playing Selena Quintanilla-Perez in a 1997 biopic, and got to pay tribute to the late singer once again with a performance at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Lopez took to the stage at the awards show, which aired Thursday, to sing a medley of Selena's hits, including "I Could Fall in Love," "Como La Flor" and "No Me Queda Mas." She was accompanied by the singer's family band, Los Dinos, and changed costumes three different times.

"We love you Selena," she said before a standing ovation. Lopez was "visibly emotional" as she hugged Selena's sister Suzette and brother A.B. on stage at the end of the performance.

Quintanilla was killed in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 31, 1995, by Yolanda Saldivar, the president of her fan club. Saldivar is serving a life sentence.
