Jason Segel takes YouTube fan Chelsea Gill out in Chicago

(CBS) Jason Segel super fan Chelsea Gill, who asked out "The Muppets" star in a song over YouTube, got her wish.

Segel asked the recent Indiana University graduate and her twin sister to meet him for drinks at the Ritz-Carlton and afterwards the two accompanied Segel to the Chicago Film Critic Awards, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Gill charmed Segel on an acoustic guitar singing quirky rhymes including, "Oh Jason Segal/You are the ring to my Smeagol."

Segel was moved by Gill's viral video that he posted the video to his Twitter account, saying, "My favorite thing, maybe ever. I am in awe. Response on the way."

"I never thought that Jason would ever hear the song," Gill, 23, told the Tribune. But, when he responded she said she "freaked out."

"I just started screaming and running around my house," she said. "My downstairs neighbor probably thought I was getting murdered because I was running around screaming."

Gill told the Tribune that Segel was a "down to earth" and a "sweetheart." 

Segel tweeted a picture of him with Gill and her sister saying, "Chelsea Gill (who wrote the great song) and her twin sister and I at the Comedy awards. I'm not sure which is which."
