(CBS) WORCESTER, Mass. - An effort to get guns off the street in the city of Worcester, in central Massachusetts, brought in at least one weapon of World War II vintage.

CBS Boston reports someone turned in a Japanese rifle from WWII, complete with bayonet.

The recent buy-back brought in more than 100 weapons in all. Most of the guns will be destroyed, but doctors at the UMass Medical Center, which runs the program, will see if any museums want the rifle.

The program has taken more than 2,000 guns off the streets of Worcester since it began in 2002.
