Janet Jackson, Fergie and The Killers have been announced as performers at the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, which air live from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 4 on Fox.

Celine Dion, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and "American Idol" alums Katharine McPhee and Chris Daughtry are set to make guest appearances.

Jackson recently released her new album, "Janet 20 Y.O.," which has reached the top 30 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Fergie's solo debut album, "The Dutchess," also broke into the Top 30 on the Billboard chart. "London Bridge," the first single off that album, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in just three weeks.

The Killers' sophomore album, "Sam's Town," debuted at No. 2 in the United States and No. 1 in the U.K.

The annual awards show recognizes the year's leading artists and songs as determined by their performance on Billboard's charts.

A host for the event has not yet been announced.
