James Van Der Beek, Katee Sackhoff star in "Power Rangers" fan film

These aren't your childhood Power Rangers.

Producer Adi Shankar and director Joseph Kahn (the guy behind Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" music video) have released a Power Rangers fan film that's gritty, dark and packs some Hollywood star power.

James Van Der Beek is the Red Ranger and Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") is the Pink Ranger in this "Power/Rangers" version, where the Mighty Morphin' heroes are all grown up and live in a much bleaker, more violent world (complete with some NSFW language).

This unauthorized film isn't the only new Power Rangers project fans are getting -- Lionsgate and Saban Brands announced last year that they're reviving the franchise for a big-screen reboot.
