ISI Claims Suicide Attack On Police Recruits

Al Qaeda-led umbrella group The Islamic State of Iraq claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack on a group of police recruits in Baghdad, which left 28 people dead. In an Internet statement, the group hailed the suicide bomber who carried out the attack as a hero and claimed that he killed over 30 police recruits.

"A knight from the Islamic State in Iraq's martyrs brigade, on March 8th, 2009, infiltrated a large crowd of apostate police recruits near the gate of the police academy in Baghdad and blew his explosives vest into them," the statement said.
