Iran goes nuclear over Israeli Samsung spoof
So much for having a sense of humor.
An Iranian lawmaker is not happy over an Israeli commercial featuring a Samsung tablet and he says the government might sever trade ties with the company because of its displeasure.
The commercial is a spoof featuring a rendezvous of Israeli Mossad agents at a cafe near what appears to be an Iranian nuclear facility. One of the agents, who was passing the time at a table with a Samsung tablet, shows off the machine's features to his comrades - all dressed as women - when he inadvertently pushes a button that triggers an explosion at the nuclear plant.
"What? Another mysterious explosion in Iran," one of the agents jokes.
Arsalan Fat'hipour, who heads the Majlis Energy Committee, didn't get the humor and he told Press TV that the commercial was insulting. He complained that it depicted Iran as a "primitive society" and that it suggested Israel was "powerful enough to easily destroy Iran's nuclear facilities or assassinate the country's nuclear scientists."
Samsung says it was not involved in the production of the television spot and condemned it. You can read more here.
