'Invincible' Helped Wahlberg's Back
The new football film "Invincible" is for anyone who's ever had a dream.
Based on a true story, it's about Vince Papale, a 30-year-old diehard Eagles fan who tries out for his beloved team and shocks everyone, including himself, by making it. The inspirational tale is set in 1976, when Papale, a teacher by trade, was working as a bartender.
Papale is played by Mark Wahlberg, who told co-anchor Hannah Storm on The Early Show Monday that he knew the football had to be as realistic as possible for the movie to succeed, so he did all the football scenes himself.
It turned out to be a fortunate decision, Wahlberg says, because one hard hit actually knocked something in his back into place, helping a longstanding back injury.
"Invincible" won Hollywood box office honors this weekend, its first in theaters, with some $17 million in receipts.
