Infant, 4 Adults Shot In New Orleans Gun Battle

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police say a 4-month-old girl was shot when she was caught in an exchange of gunfire in a neighborhood near the Mississippi River.

Capt. Bob Bardy says the infant was among five people wounded Monday afternoon. Bardy says the infant has been stabilized but two men are believed to be in critical condition.

Bardy says one man was shot in the chin, another in the back and a third in the arm. A bullet hit a woman in the foot. It wasn't clear where the child was hit.

Police say there are no immediate suspects or motives.

Bardy says a gun was recovered from at least one of the victims.
