'Idol' Finalist Joins Talent Search
"American Idol" Season 3 finalist George Huff visited TheShowbuzz.com studios to talk about his latest project, a stint on the second season of the Gospel Music Channel's talent search, "Gospel Dream." Huff joins the nationally televised competition at auditions in New York, where he'll work with amateur artists hoping to become the next big Gospel star.
"Gospel Dream" will travel to six cities during June and July, looking for soloists to become contestants on the show. Huff said his role is to be an "encourager," cheering on contestants as they go through the audition process.
Huff has been very busy since being a Top 5 finalist on "American Idol" in 2004. He's spent much of his time performing across the United States, beginning with a 50-city tour with other "Idol" finalists. He's performed with Billy Graham and has also helped raise funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina in his hometown of New Orleans.
The always-upbeat singer's debut album, "Miracles," was released in October 2005. Last month, the Gospel Music Channel premiered Huff's first music video for the album's title track.
