Hurricane Irene video as seen from space

(CBS) - Hurricane Irene continues its march northwest up the Atlantic coast, currently a Category 3 storm. It's hard to imagine the size and power of a full-force hurricane if you've never seen one yourself. Luckily, that's what we have NASA for. This video comes from the International Space Station and shows off Irene from several angles. Spoiler: it's a big, big storm.

The massive storm's current projected path will bring it to the Outer Banks Saturday morning, likely as a Category 3. Forecasters and computer models suggest the storm could grow to a Category 4 storm by the time it makes landfall.

Whether it's a Category 2, 3 or 4, the fact remains that that is a very big storm system heading straight to the East Coast. Hunker down, gang.
