"Human Homerun" clears the fence at ballpark!

(CBS) - It's a bird! It's a plane! No! It's Dave "Cannonball" Smith Sr.! But Smith isn't simply content with being a cannonball, he wants to be a "home run!"

Usually at the ballpark you are accustomed to seeing baseballs fly over the wall all the time, unless of course you happen to be a Minessota Twins or Oakland Athletics fan at one of their minor league games.

As reported by The Lowell Sun, Smith, a 69-year-old former school teacher, launched himself out of a cannon traveling a distance of 150 feet to clear the right field fence and land in a net set to catch him.

Now that's what I call getting a higher education!
